Key Stage 3 English
Pupils have six English lessons a fortnight in Key Stage Three, plus one literacy lesson every two weeks in Years 7 and 8. Below you will find information on the topics we study for each of the three years, plus information about core assessments for each unit. Below you will find links to useful documents that provide details about things such as Project Homework tasks that will help you support your child in their learning.
Please note that Year 9 pupils will not be studying for their English GCSE until Year 10 and therefore are still regarded as Key Stage Three in English, despite being Key Stage Four in other subject departments. Year 9 will, however, be taught the appropriate skills to prepare them for the new WJEC English Specification, details of which are included in a linked PowerPoint below.
