Llantwit Major School Welcome
Welcome to our school website, which I hope gives you a flavour of what life is like here at Llantwit Major School.
I am extremely proud and privileged to be the Headteacher of such a vibrant and caring school community.
Here at Llantwit, everything we do centres around the Llantwit ARK.
The “ARK” encapsulates our three core school values of Ambition, Respect and Kindness. These values were consulted on and agreed by our entire school community. More detail on these can be found under the “school values” tab, but in short, we aim to: be ambitious and try our best in all we do; show respect for ourselves, our peers and our school community and be kind in all interactions with each other. When our learners achieve this, we recognise and celebrate it. On the rare occasions they do not, we work together to explore how a better choice could be made next time.
We pride ourselves on being a school that is fully inclusive. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and flourish, regardless of background or ability. We know that people are our greatest asset and are fully committed to excellence, creativity and innovation in order to provide our young people with exciting, enriching and lifelong learning experiences. We want our learners to be challenged, stimulated, and, most importantly, happy.
Alongside academic success, our learners are provided with a wide range of opportunities to develop their lives outside of the classroom. The school has outstanding music, drama and PE departments which support the school in providing excellent extra-curricular provision.
We pride ourselves on the strong links we have forged with our local community here in Llantwit Major and are always seeking to build and strengthen these. Parents and carers also play a crucial part in the life of our school here at Llantwit Major and your cooperation and support is greatly valued and appreciated.
