The Performing Arts team aim to create learning environments in which students feel safe to take risks, work with others and make creative decisions. We support all students to create live experiences by assisting them to take an active part in performing in and creating digital media, music and theatre.

KS3 DRAMA
At KS3 pupils follow a holistic approach to Drama by performing scripted and devised work. Students have one drama lesson a fortnight.

KS3 MUSIC
At KS3 pupils follow a holistic approach to music by performing (playing and singing), composing and appraising within each unit of work. Students have one music lesson a week. |

KS4 DRAMA
At KS4 the department follows the WJEC GCSE Drama Specification. The course is made up of three units; Devising Theatre Performance Scripted Theatre Performance Written Exam Students can opt to take Drama GCSE in year 9. Options for Acting and Technical candidates are available. You will be expected to attend theatre visits as part of your course. |

KS4 MUSIC
At KS4 the department follows the WJEC GCSE Music Specification. The course is made up of three units; Performing Composing Appraising Exam Students can opt to take Music GCSE in year 9. The department utilises the range of expertise of both full time and peripatetic teachers to broaden the student's experiences where required. |

KS5 DRAMA
At KS5 the department follows the WJEC GCE Drama Specification. It is a mixture of performance/design and written elements. The course is made up of four units; AS Unit 1: Theatre Workshop AS Unit 2: Text in Theatre A2 Unit 3: Text in Action A2 Unit 4: Text in Performance Students can opt to take A Level in year 11. Options for Acting and Technical candidates are available. Students can opt for A Level without GCSE Drama. You will be expected to attend theatre visits as part of your course. |

The course is made up of four units; AS Unit 1: Investigating the Media AS Unit 2: Creating a Media Production A2 Unit 3: Media in the Global Age A2 Unit 4: Creating a Cross-Media Production Students can opt to take A Level in year 11. |
