Modern Foreign Languages Department
Our aim is to give our pupils an exciting MFL education through varied teaching strategies, interesting and diverse schemes of work, positive discipline, stimulating classroom environments, and IT resources including subscriptions to MFL internet websites. Pupils are encouraged to take part in educational visits to France and special events including European Days and celebrations.

KEY STAGE 3
Students study French in KS3. In Year 7, learners attend 3 x 1 hour lessons per fortnight and this provision continues into Year 8.

French is optional in KS4, but parents and students are advised to have regard for their importance in a balanced curriculum. From Year 9, learners attend 4 x 1 hour lessons per fortnight.
