DRAMA DEPARTMENT
SCHEME OF WORK for GCSE Key Stage 4
Llantwit Major Drama Department delivers GCSE Drama at KS4. The course is made up into three units which includes performance and written assessment.
All students of the school can opt to take GCSE Drama (even if you have not had performance experience before). Options for Acting and Technical candidates are available.
You will be expected to visit the theatre at least three times during the two year course. Mrs Richards runs a lot of trips to local theatres and venues further afield.

Introduction to the course General workshops going over Drama techniques: Improvisation, status, characterisation and narrative. Set first devising project based on a theme from a newspaper story or picture. Introduction of diary to help prepare controlled evaluation assessment. |

Introduction of first practitioner Stanislavski Use devised pieces to illustrate and work on ideas. |

Introduction of second practitioner Brecht. Use themes from set text to develop devised work using his ideas. |
