Business Studies Trip to Thorpe Park

The Business Studies trip to Thorpe Park was really good as we got to go on all of the rides with are friends making it a really fun day.

We also had a talk on marketing which we had just studied in school. The employee explained how the park uses the marketing mix to attract customers to the park and how the park has developed over the years.

We learnt how the park uses promotion by attracting different celebrities and through the media such as TV. We all really enjoyed our trip to Thorpe Park and really want to go back!

Activ8 Enterprise Activity

As a contribution to the success of Activ8 which took place at the school on June 13, a group of Year 10 Business Studies students organised and ran a tuck shop as an enterprise activity.

The students made some key decisions on what stock to sell, where to locate and what price they needed to charge for the items in order to cover their costs. In fact, the students made over £100 in profit which was put towards covering the cost of the publicity material for Activ8.

A big thanks goes to Sally Davies, Jade Hill, Tom Gould, Sidony Crowther and Rebecca James for their enthusiasm in helping make the event such a success.          Be prepared Sir Alan Sugar!
